Hi, I’m Kerry.
I am a Somatic Experiencing (SE) Practitioner who creates a safe, compassionate space for you to explore the depths of your body, mind, heart, and spirit. I’ll gently guide you toward insights that align with your personal goals—at your own pace.
My goal is to support clients in developing the resources and resiliency to have agency and be fully present and connected with the fullness of life.
What is Somatic Experiencing (SE)?
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a gentle, body-centered therapy that helps release stress, shock, and trauma held in the body and nervous system.
Over time, these experiences can disrupt our natural balance, leaving us feeling disconnected or overwhelmed.
SE works by carefully guiding you to reconnect with your body’s own wisdom, restoring calm and resilience.
This method draws from a unique blend of fields, including physiology, psychology, and neuroscience, along with insights from indigenous healing practices. Developed over 40 years, SE offers a compassionate path to healing, helping you feel more grounded and at ease in everyday life.

Somatic Experiencing sessions may support you in:
Your concept of self or identity
Improving your self-worth and self-confidence
Improving your sense of trust and safety
Enhancing your compassion for yourself and others
Complementing traditional talk therapy
Integrating psychedelic experiences (both recreational and therapeutic)
Releasing bound energy held in the body from trauma
Shifting patterns or reactions that no longer benefit you
Deepening your connection with your body
How do I know if I have trauma?
Trauma can take many forms and doesn’t always come from a single, life-changing event. Sometimes, it develops over time due to chronic stress, difficult experiences, or even events from our past that we may not fully remember. Trauma might stem from situations like accidents, medical procedures, emotional or physical abuse, neglect, or major life changes. It can also come from ongoing stressors, like persistent fear, loss, betrayal; or even the effects of trauma passed down through generations.
Some signs that trauma may be impacting your life include:
Feeling overwhelmed or anxious
Uncontrollable reactions
Anger or rage that is out of proportion to the inciting event
Experiencing a sense of disconnection from yourself or others
Difficulties in relationships
Feeling ‘stuck’
Difficulty trusting or feeling safe
Emotional numbness or difficulty accessing feelings
Feeling down, depressed, or apathetic
Loss of your ‘spark’ or inability to experience the vibrancy and wonder of life
Feeling lost or directionless in life
Physical symptoms, such as tension, fatigue, or chronic pain, without a clear medical cause
Somatic Experiencing (SE) offers a compassionate approach to gently explore these experiences, helping you feel more balanced, resilient, and at ease. It can also help with your concept of self, self-worth, and self-confidence.
How SE Works
Somatic Experiencing works by reconnecting you with the physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual layers of your experience.
Through a safe, intentional slowing down, SE helps you tune into your body’s natural rhythms and responses, allowing for a gentle release of stored stress or trauma.
This approach opens up new pathways in your mind and body, fostering resilience, balance, and a deeper understanding of yourself.
By weaving these layers together, SE supports you in building a more cohesive and empowered sense of self, aligned with your goals and unique journey.

My Approach - Move to “About Kerry”
With a foundation in psychology, medicine, and athletics, I bring a diverse background to my work in healing and self-exploration. After earning my degrees at USC (BS in Psychology and my graduate degree as a Physician Assistant), I’ve spent close to 20 years working in addiction and emergency medicine, as well as academia. This led to my curiosity about alternative interventions to ease suffering as the limits of medicine left me disenchanted and discouraged. In 2022, I became certified as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy.
My personal healing journey has also shaped my approach and deepened my understanding of how compassionate presence is a powerful force for healing. It is the foundation for this work.
YOU are the expert in the “field” of yourself. My role is to create a safe and supportive space for you to explore your body, mind, heart, and spirit at your own pace; offering gentle reflections to guide your process.
Life is a spectrum of experiences, some heart-breaking, some richly fulfilling, and everything in between. [It is my goal to support people in developing the resources and resiliency to have agency and be fully present and connected with the fullness of life.] (note from lina: this feels almost like a mission statement? Is that the case?)

"I am continually surprised at Kerry’s adept ability to track with me. I’ve had numerous therapists over the years but none of them have been as focused or action oriented. Nor have the others been as on top of where we are in the cycles of the therapy. Sometimes one can use therapy merely as a venting session yet never make real progress. With the techniques that Kerry uses I am finding myself less reactive, more capable of managing my emotions and more present to the now of life. Kerry is great at getting to the root of the issues and tailoring strategies to move through problems in ways that feel natural to who I am and who I am becoming."

"After spending 10+ years in “traditional” therapy (with a pretty disdainful view of it as a whole) and struggling around themes of self-worth and emotional dysregulation, working with Kerry was a transformative experience. Through the most gentle approach using co-regulation to start, and then with her guidance, shifting into self-regulation, Kerry has taught me ways to shift out of fight/flight/freeze states. Her work has helped me connect more easily with what my body knows to be safe. Her techniques have become the cornerstone of my “toolkit”, and I find myself reaching for them all the time. Thanks to this work with Kerry, I absolutely feel a broader capacity to be emotionally regulated, and resilient."

"Kerry is kind, brilliant, and patient. I was new to somatic therapy and Kerry’s sensitivity and insight was profoundly helpful. I’ve been a psychotherapist for thirty years and have personally experienced Kerry’s expertise. I see somatic therapy as an essential tool for healing and recovery from trauma. Kerry is an excellent SE therapist and I highly recommend her."
